CARB4GREEN is a digital platform developed to support the measurement, monitoring and management of the carbon footprint of territories, communities, companies and organisations. Designed to respond to growing requirements in climate action, the platform combines technology, data and internationally recognised methodologies to support effective environmental management.
Cities are at the centre of this challenge. Between 70% and 80% of global carbon dioxide emissions are generated in urban environments, where economic activity, mobility, energy consumption and waste converge. At the same time, urban territories offer the greatest potential for implementing mitigation measures, energy efficiency strategies and sustainable planning solutions.
CARB4GREEN enables the calculation of carbon footprints associated with human activities over specific periods and territories, supporting an integrated understanding of climate impact. Through the collection, tracking and analysis of environmental data, the platform transforms dispersed information into clear, comparable and actionable indicators.
Key features of CARB4GREEN include the measurement of greenhouse gas emissions, the creation of sustainability dashboards to visualise environmental performance and the development of short-, medium- and long-term projections. The platform allows users to analyse different scenarios, comparing business-as-usual and emissions-reduction pathways to support informed strategic decisions.
CARB4GREEN also supports the planning of mitigation actions by enabling the development of project portfolios focused on emissions reduction, including cost-benefit analysis to prioritise interventions with the highest environmental and socio-economic impact.
Developed as a fully digital, cloud-based solution, CARB4GREEN is scalable and adaptable to different geographical contexts and user profiles.
